Cinsault is a dark skinned grape that can deliver floral and ripe strawberry notes and hints of dried fruit. It is commonly used as a blending grape in the Southern Rhone and other areas of Southern France such as Bandol and the Languedoc. It is also used in the production of Vins de Provence rosé. In South Africa, Cinsault was crossed with Pinot Noir to create Pinotage.
