Aglianico is a black grape that produces full-bodied red wines with savoury flavours of leather, black pepper, dried fruits and cured meats. It has firm tannins and good aging potential. It is mostly grown in the regions of Campania and Basilicata in southern Italy. It is best known for the wines of Taurasi DOCG, Aglianico del Taburno DOCG, Basilicata DOC and Aglianico del Vulture DOCG. Pair Aglianico with rich meat dishes.
