Season 6, Round 3: “So, You Think you Know Wine?”

Plucking Defeat from the Jaws of Victory

Welcome to Round 3 of “So, You Think You Know Wine?” For Season 6 we’ve made some changes that are sure to please our viewers. Our new host, the esteemed James Chatto, puts the spotlight back on the wines and the deductive process. You’ll find Season 6 to be not just entertaining but educational as well.

Watch as nine wine experts, with no clues as to what the wine is in their glass, swirl, sniff, gurgle and spit their way to discovering the grape variety, region, vintage, and price of the wine. Points are awarded and a champion eventually emerges.

So, pour yourself a glass of wine, sit back and enjoy Round 3 as James leads Toni Weber, Michael Godel, and Bruce Wallner in a blind tasting to identify an Italian Pinot Grigio. And remember, sometimes it’s best to go with your first instinct!

Last time, the scores were low as the contestants had difficulty pinpointing the country and region that the traditional method sparkling wine came from. Steve Thurlow and Will Predhomme ended up tied for first place with only 2 points each. Here are the scores after Round 2:
