Creamy, rich and bright, like a young Chassagne-Montrachet at a more affordable price point. The 2009 incarnation is...

It doesn’t have quite the depth and finesse of the top LCJ chardonnays from this vintage, but it is by far the best...

Here we have a 2009 Chardonnay that is easily balanced and complex enough to sit for another 2-3 years in your cellar. This wine has a ton going on. Oak, minerality, butter, nuts, and even lemon on the nose and palate. The acidity is fresh and the finishing taste seems to linger in your mouth for awhile. Pair with fresh fish, rich cheese, pasta, chicken, turkey......

Spring flower aromas from the cork. Silky aromas of buttered popcorn and French oak, with hints of vanilla. Also an intriguing sesame note. Creamy mouthfeel with refreshing acidity and extra dry flavours of minerality, oak and lemon rind. Very smooth with a lasting finish that goes on and on... Tasted Oct/2012.

LCJ's '09 chardonnays, like their pinots, are a generally impressive lot. The Village reserve is a particularly interesting value, delivering freshness, integrated barrel influence, and a solid dose of minerality. Refined and elegant all around, in a style that invites constant sips. Pair with crab cakes or grilled tuna steaks. It will also reward 2-4 years in a cellar.
