WineAlign 2013 National Wine Awards of Canada (NWAC)
The WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada (NWAC) are held every year in June. Each year a wide selection of the country’s leading wine writers and tasters are asked to gather somewhere in Canadian wine country to evaluate around 1100 wines grown in Canada and to award Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in some two dozen categories.
The judging for the 2013 competition took place in June in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.
The results will be sent to all winning wineries by July 31st 2013.
Starting on Wednesday July 10th each judge will write at WineAlign about his or her favourite wine tasted during NWAC13. Judges have already started writing about the wines they tasted in their own publications.
In August we will publish the results for the Rose and Aromatic White categories at WineAlign.
Full results including Canadian Winery of the Year will be published on WineAlign in September.
Besides being integrated into the WineAlign website, the winning wines will be showcased in a special feature section of the National Post’s Financial Post Magazine. FP Magazine has a readership of close to one million and represents an affluent wine loving demographic group.
Combined with the reach of WineAlign, the potential audience size for the results will exceed two million.
NWAC14 will open for registration in February 2014.
