This is definitely an Irish whiskey of a different stripe, the full body and weight of which might have you thinking...

I have had a bottle of this Glendalough Double Barrel, and it is a lovely drop. Much richer than your standard Irish whiskey. You really get that bourbon cask vanilla and a nice hit of sherry sweetness. Thick mouthfeel, almost chewy. Dangerous stuff, honestly.
Could not find it in my local off licence, so I ended up ordering a bottle from McGrocer along with my usual bits. Turned up in a week, well packaged. Worth the hunt if you like something with a bit of weight to it. Good for sipping or stirring into an old fashioned. Cheers.
