Yalumba The Y Series Viognier 2016, South Australia

This is great value - with classic, quite lovely viognier bloom that includes star anise, ginger, pineapple and lemon...
A nose is rather discreet, given the nature of the grape variety. The mouth is definitely more expressive, nicely...

Medium body, floral and baked pineapple on the nose. Lots of stone fruit- peach and apricot initially and finishes with a kick of white pepper. Well balanced with acidity and lengthy finish. Tasted August 2017.
Excellent viognier from south Australia
, Yalumba's expression of this northern Rhone white variety is astounding for the 15$ price tag. Highly recommended!
An interesting flavour profile with tropical fruit flavours like pineapple along with citrus fruit. A slightly viscous, almost oily texture yet still has enough acidity to keep the wine crisp an clean tasting. Really excellent value for $14. Tasted Sept 2017.
