This is astounding value - and amazing that a 2007 is still so vital. Rolly Gassmann is one of the traditional heroes...

A late harvest (comes across as botrytis affected), idiosyncratic wine in the customary Gassmann style, with...

This yellow gold wine is delicious. Mid sweet and honeyed, there's wonderful fruit, fresh acidity a lovely mouthfeel and length and complexity to boot. A slight hint of savouriness puts boundaries on the sweetness. This sips beautifully on it's own and could work with mid sweet food, but not overly sweet dessert.

Starting with honey on the nose, as the wine warmed and opened, the nose turned to dried apricots and a hint of ginger and toffee. On the palate there was honey and stone fruit with very nice mouth feel and nice acidity on the very long finish.

Who knew auxerrois could be this good?? Amazingly complex nose of ripe stone fruit (peach, apricot), honey, and floral notes. On the palate, it's off-dry, though the acidity keeps it balanced, and is medium to full-bodied, and quite round in the mouth. The length is truly outstanding. Will be grabbing another couple bottles and telling my friends about this one. Don't pass this up!! Tasted August 2013.

Sweet but not cloying, much like a late harvest Reisling, this was very enjoyable with bacon-wrapped, cream cheese stuffed jalepanos. Terrific.

If you enjoy late harvest wines you will adore this. Although I prefer late harvest cab franc from niagara, I have to admit, this gave me some real drinking pleasure.
