A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. Aromas of cinnamon sticks, red plum, red cherry, and cocoa powder make for pleasing complexity on the nose. This one contains substantial tannins balanced by generous fruit and spice. For such a blockbuster vintage this wine is showing impressive restraint. Marvellous depth of flavour on the layered finish. Drink now until 2020 with lamb kebabs or strong cheeses. (VINTAGES panel, March 2013)

A tight package with broad shoulders and clear Bordeaux definition displaying a warm, ripe vintage. Deep ruby with violet shades and certain opaqueness. Evolving nose that morphs with air. Forest floor, black mushroom, leather, pencil lead, cedar and mocha opens from the glass. The palate is young, full of tannin, fruit extract and oak that need time to harmonize. Satisfy's now if your looking for chewy, funky, ripe your face Bordeaux. Drinks above the price. Hold till 2015 then drink till 2020. Tasted Sept '13
