Santa Barbara Collection Chardonnay 2010, Santa Barbara
This is a quite fleshy, spicy and intense chardonnay with the almost tropical fruit pineapple lushness yet cool coastal acidity of this area. The oak treatment is a bit confected with toast, clove and butterscotch on the nose and palate. It's medium-full bodied, quite smooth then hottish, sour and coarse on the finish, with some lemon wax. The length is very good. Score: 87 (David Lawrason, WineAlign.com, Mar 2013)

In agreement with comments above. A real crowd pleaser with great drinkability and moderate complexity. A refeshing, if not surprising, value for California Chardonnay at less than $20.
Tasted March 2013.
