Robert Mondavi Pinot Noir 2010, Carneros, Napa Valley
This is an eminently drinkable, quite delicious if rather sweet style of pinot noir. The colour is deep ruby. The nose is perfumed with ripe black cherry-strawberry jam fruit typical of Carneros, plus vanilla and light smoke. It's mid-weight, quite delicate and almost silky on the palate, with super-polished tannin. The finish is warm but the fruit powers through with good acidity catching hold on the finish. Very well made. Chill a bit and enjoy over the next three to five years. Score: 90 (David Lawrason, WineAlign.com, Feb 2013)
