Tselepos Moschofilero Mantinia 2010, Pdo
Other White

Peloponnese, Greece
$16.95 (724583)
Exotic and expressive nose of pear, peach compote, sweet watermelon, apricot chutney, fresh marjoram and mineral. Dry with a lot of plump fruit surrounded by zippy acidity that ties everything together. Impressive, mediumfull-bodied wine with a long, lush, fresh finish. Enjoy with foods you would also match to Riesling or Gewurztraminer, such as grilled jumbo prawns with a stuffing of lemon, herbs, olive oil and salt. (VINTAGES panel, Nov. 2011)

Delicate, not too sweet, it has a nice little buzz that tastes as if there is a bit of secondary fermentation. With a good finish, there is nothing to complain about here. Good value.
I wanted to try something different and I found it with this one. I'm a huge fan of Greek wines. This grape variety is called Moschofilero. Not too high in alcohol, it's very aromatic with lively lemon zest. It's tart with a good finish. I liked it!
