Morgante’s 2008 Nero d’Avola is a delicious entry-level wine bursting with dark fruit, spices and French oak. This is without question a powerful style of Nero d’Avola where the oak has added a measure of textural richness and complexity. In another few months the wine should be even more integrated. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014. Score: 89 (Antonio Galloni, erobertparker.com, Aug. 2010) 88/88
Seems fairly typical Sicilian wine - delicate but fruity nose, good very deep color, oaky taste, complex finish
For those of you that like Australian Shiraz, this is an Italian wine in the same vein... Tasted in October 2011.
