This review is for the 2011. From the Estate's Felseck vineyard on the Bench, this light golden gewurz offers up aromas of citrus fruit, lychee, florality and minerality. The palate displays a similar profile with a creamy mouthfeel. It's not sweet, staying well south of off dry and there's a bracing acidity to balance the fruit, followed by ginger, savoury notes and some heat (almost 14% alcohol) on a lengthy finish. There isn't a more perfect match for spicy Asian cuisine. The Bench may be hidden, but quality is on display. Dec. 2013.
