This nicely aromatic, Gold Medal winner has a medium to full body with FRUITY to integrated notes of strawberry, red currant, blackberry, violets and green pepper/brettyness. Tannins are subtle to refined (decant for 30 to 60 min) and the finish is medium. My impression: NICE, 90 pts - would recommend it to lovers of typical French reds if it was still widely available. Tasted in Aug/10 during French wine tasting, well liked.

Bit of funk on nose at first, then opens to menthol, creamy blueberry notes. Has a rustic, dusty feel. Palate is cassis, black cherry with light spicy notes. Very mild tannins.

This wine is medium violet in color and opened up with aromas of raspberry, blueberry, spices, black pepper, earthy and mineral notes. On the mouthfeel, light to medium bodied, light on fruit, mineral driven, herbal flavours with balanced acidity and well integrated tannins. Great energy on the finish with peppery flavours, this wine has a strong minerality presence throughout. This wine is not meant for everyone, if you like a fruity type of Shiraz, this is not going to be for you. I found the first two glasses to be interesting but that interest quickly faded away.

Wow, this wine has tons of smoke, pepper, dried meat flavours. Would like a bit more fruit and it seems a tad hollow, but a wine of considerable character especially for just $13. Works better with food. Certainly worth trying.
