This very deeply coloured merlot is loaded with cassis/blackcurrant fruit, not a common merlot flavour anywhere...

A nice 2007 vintage merlot from Chile. Full-bodied, with a long finish, and tastes of wood, black currant, and heavy tannin.
I think it needs a few more years of aging.
At this price, it is probably worth cellaring it for a while. Good with lamb and stews.
