Kew Vineyards Estate Winery
At Kew, our focus is on small batch and unique wines that offer an honest example of terroir and display character and complexity in an easy and understated manner. Our 2012 Marsanne Viognier is a perfect example of our philosophy. Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier are the classic white wine varietals of the Rhone Valley, making white Hermitage wines some of the most prestigious wines in the world. Our winemaker, Philip Dowell, has produced the first ever Hermitage-style wine in Ontario. First crop Marsanne and Roussanne from the estate vineyard are blended with Viognier from the Young Family Organic Vineyard. The Viognier was barrel fermented and aged for six months in new and one year old French oak. The Marsanne and Roussanne provide structure and balance to the wine while the Viognier adds vibrancy and life.
