Just coming into it's own now. That characteristic Nebbiolo tannic grip is starting to loosen. Balanced acidity and excellent length. Classic Nebbiolo aromas and flavours, cherry (moving into the dried spectrum), violets, roses, herbs and tar. A great 'poor man's' Barbaresco. Oct. 2020.

Superior Nebbiolo from Sottimano, worthy of being labelled Barbaresco going by the quality. Here in late 2021, the tannin is still notable, though the wine is certainly very enjoyable at the moment. Complex flavours revolve around sour red cherries, and dried fruit and a long finish, Glad that I have a second bottle, which I will hold on to for another 3-5 years. Tasted Nov 2021.

After buying two bottles, I will hold the other for a few more years as I think this was just too young. This wine was tannic and full of oak; my hope is a few more years will soften and harmonize it. Definitely a wine to pair with rich foods that need that cutting type of wine.

I rarely come across badly corked wines these days (it was carefully cellared), unfortunately this was one of them. Putting up a rating only to highlight that quality control should be better in a $30 wine.

Behind the wet cardboard you could still detect significant cedar and ruined cherry elegance.
