The 2011 is persistent, that much is obvious, in a hulking, Gran Selezione monstrous state, big in alcohol and bones....

This 100% Sangiovese has medium-to-high intensity aromas of ripe red fruits, cherry, floral, sweet oak and clove notes. On the medium+ bodied palate, it has firm tannins and juicy acids, along with balanced earth, cherry, floral and spice flavours. Excellent finish length. A bit young, try in 3 years. Tasted May/2016.

Best Chianti I have had - delightful with a nice red sauce with meat. Highly recommended.

It's only wine but I like it

Quite big for a Chianti Classico, with plenty of depth and ripeness and some firm tannin and acidity on the finish. This is clearly a very fine wine, yet the sheen of oak robs the wine of some of its Tuscan character (as least, in my view). Admittedly, there is some excellent fruit here to balance the oak, so I am sure lovers of Super Tuscans will really enjoy this. Drinking now, but probably better in 2021. I liked it....just didnt love it. Tasted Nov 2019.
