From a famous name in Port, and rightly so, what this LBV lacks in profundity and depth it makes up for in accessibility and ease. It's sweet, soft, juicy, and well-constructed, with notes of prune and raisin, stewed cherries and dark berries, vanilla and milk chocolate, mint, and mild baking spice, and with extra time after opening -- 1-2 weeks -- the flavours round and mellow into Christmas pudding and the texture gets even more soft and luscious. Basic, perhaps, but all the more impressive for that, and a simply incredible value.
