The 2012 Place In The Sun Shiraz, sourced from Stellenbosch using Fairtrade practices, has pungent aromas of barnyard overlaying blackberry and light vanilla on the nose and cranberry and dates on the palate. It is a light to medium bodied, dry, fruity wine; with forward acidity, subtle to refined tannins (no need for decanting) and a short to medium, overwhelmingly barnyardy finish. This wine is meant to be served with food – gamey lamb would pair nicely (screw cap enclosure). Rated 84-85 pts. Tasted in Jun/14.
