Deep ruby in colour with a medium minus intense nose.

My new favourite wine to pair with pizza

Positives: This wine features cedar, sour cherry, Bing cherry, oregano, sage, rosemary, raspberry, leather, graphite & fresh cut carnations. Medium body with medium+ tannins, good acidity & a long length.

Negatives: None

Drink now or over the next 5 years on its own or pair it with pizza.

Interesting Point: Tasted the wine from the smaller Chianti/Zinfandel wine glass & the larger Cabernet Sauvignon glass; in the Cab glass it was dull & muted, while shined in the Chianti glass.

Tasted: 17 January 2014

This is one seriously enjoyable and food-friendly wine that shows off what Sangiovese is all about. The nose is all about sour cherry, floral, and slight herbaceous notes. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with bright acidity and dusty tannins and a long finish. This bottle definitely gives a lot for the price. Tasted April 2014.

Another fine offering from Capezzana. Bright sour cherry fruit, with notes of herbs and earthiness. The Sangivoese character really shines through here. Finishes with pleasant tartness, fine acidity and light but firm tannin. Not quite the value it was in past years (thanks to the additional $1 LCBO gouge) but a worthy purchase in Tuscan red. Tasted nov 2013.
