Soft but deep and plush with a velvety texture, this indulgent Barbera shows wonderfully balanced acidity and a core of plummy fruit. With more concentration than one would expect from this varietal and at this price point, there is a great deal to appreciate. Ripe tannins and very long finish. Try with a satisfying beef stew. Score: 90 (Sara d'Amato, WineAlign.com, May 2013)
