A vibrant, lively wine with big on floral notes, candied red fruit, raspberries and cherry pie, with notes of cinnamon, clove and baking spice rounding things out. A well put together wine. I can't see it improving much more with time in the cellar. The 14.5% alcohol isn't overly noticable, nor is there a trace of the French oak it aged in for 10 months.
A tasty wine for backyard sipping, or paired with barbecued meats.
Tasted June 2013.
