Flagship red of Signorello, the 2007 Padrone is an extremely weighty, hedonistic Bordeaux-blend. Dark-opaque ruby in colour, the wine features resplendent, almost ‘silky’ aromas of creamy black mocha, black currants, blackberry compote, crème de cassis, kirsch, licorice, leather, vanilla, and spice. Very complex, retaining extremely rich, sumptuous fruit, firm tannins, milder acidity, and a long-lasting, abundant hint of chocolate and ripe plummy currants on the finish. Powerful, decadent bottling; excellently structured and styled. 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, and 8% Cabernet Franc. Now-2026. (Julian Hitner, The Successful Collector, September 2011)
