Although labelled Cotes du Rhone-Villages, the grenache, syrah, mourvedre and cinsault fruit is from vineyards near the village of Rasteau. Hailing from an excellent vintage this offers good heft and structure for the money. It has ripe plum, black olive, peppery and woodsy aromas and flavours, with a tarry, leathery note as well. Rather coarse and tannic and gritty on the finish. The length is good. Give it a year. Score: 86 (David Lawrason, WineAlign.com, Mar 2013)
