What a lovely left bank Bordeaux this is. From the stellar 2016 vintage, this is a blend of 40% Merlot, 40% Cab Sauv, %15 Cab Fran plus a wee bit of Petit Verdot and Carménère. Nicely ripened fruit, with oak well in the background. Delicious wine, just missing a touch of complexity and length for a 90+ score, but just fine for the price. The kind of Bordeaux red that Bordeaux should be making,,,,all about balance - a wine for human pleasure, not strictly impress certain critics. Tasted Aug 2022.
