A great buy, this wine has the classic hot-climate ripeness and warmth of southern Italy, with cherry notes nicely layered amid salami and herbal notes. Quite full bodied, rounded, leathery, warm and a touch sweet. Also in a 1.5-litre bottle ($13.45).

Aromas of berry, cherry and petrol? though no taste of petrol is present the aroma is quite hard to overlook. The tastes on the other hand are quite pleasant but simple, with notes of black berry and earth. Enjoyable, but not particularly memorable.
