This is a nicely firm, almost elegant merlot from a lighter but ripe vintage. I am enjoying the charm of the 2014s....

Medium tawny color with medium aromas of cassis, plum, forest floor, brown sugar, and perfume.
At first, the palate was chalky with little fruit but after 50 minutes, juicy red plum, cassis, balsamic, cinnamon, incense, and bay leaf. Medium plus acidity with some chalky tannins. Short finish that turns to caramelized cherry after 90 min.
