It's only wine but I like it

Despite ageing in Allier 225L barrels, the wood influence is very well integrated. This allows the sour cherry/red currant flavours to take center stage, as they should. Silky tannin and fine acidity keep the wine fresh. All in all, a fine Chianti Classico. No need to age further, this is a fine drink right now. Tasted Feb 2019.

This has a generous nose of sweet oak spice, red cherry, floral with some earthy elements and rustic charm. Hints of dried cherry emerge with time. The palate is light-to-medium bodied with soft, balanced, and well-integrated tannins that provide just a touch of grip. Fresh, food-friendly acids lift the palate. Flavours of dark cherry, blackberry, cedar, earth, and hints of dried cherry. Nicely balanced overall. Earthy notes with cherry linger on the long finish. There's just enough here to keep you coming back for another sip. Enjoy over the next 2-3 years. Tasted Apr/2018.
