The aromatics are bold showing plum, blackberry bushes, cedar, dried blueberry and tobacco. Acidity dominates the structure of this wine, immediately puckering the tongue and cheeks. Sour red cherry and raspberry are the dominant flavours, along with a sprinkle of white pepper. The finish is relatively long, filled with muted echoes of the sour red fruit and pepper. This wine will be a rewarding treat along side rich wintery dishes, or to those that have the patience to cellar it for a year or four.

Picked this one up at my local LCBO Vintages.

I was expecting a lot considering where is was made. It's good but not ready for prime time yet.

This red is in need of some good cellar time. Worth buying if you don't mind not opening it for a few years.

Typical Cab Franc notes found in nose and taste. Cherry, black berry, and good oak. Balance is just not there yet, with cellaring it may all come together.

Tasted: March 2010
