Cortonesi La Mannella Rosso Di Montalcino 2018, D.O.C.
Tuscany, Italy$29.95
Last tasted April 2025. Took a while to open up. Tried it in spring 2020 and was still pretty green. Tried again in December 2021 and got a lot smoother and aged pretty well. (October 2024 update: not much change and the wine has gotten pretty flat with limited depth).(April 2025 update: same as October 2024.)
Peter Lehmann The Barossan Shiraz 2017, Barossa Valley, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$21.95
Cavino Nemea Grande Reserve 2012
Nemea, Greece$18.95
Very good value for this solid, full-bodied wine that perfectly showcases why Greek wines should be rediscovered. Tasted July 2020.
Yalumba The Scribbler Cabernet/Shiraz 2014, Barossa, South Australia
South Australia, Australia$17.75
Castello Di Neive Barbaresco 2011, Docg
Piedmont, Italy$19.80
First time to try a Barbaresco and I was utterly impressed. It matched so well with food and also great to sip on its own. Medium body. Decant well before drinking. I opened the bottle 90 minutes before drinking. Tasted February & October 2015.
Beringer Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, Sonoma County
California, Usa$44.95
Powerful, smooth Cab Sauvignon the way California has learned to perfect over the years. Tasted March 2016.
Famille Perrin La Gille Gigondas 2012, Ac
Rhône, France$29.95
Great GSM from the Rhone valley. Everything I could have expected from a Gigondas. Smooth tannins and less heat than expected for 14.5% alcohol. Tasted April 2016.
Terre Del Barolo 2010
Piedmont, Italy$29.95
Nice wine but I had better Barolo at this price point. Needed a good 3 hours of decanting before being truly appreciated. Tasted January 2016.
Fontanafredda Barolo 2011
Piedmont, Italy$32.95
The 2010 vintage was better but this is still a very nice wine. Make sure to decant 2-3 hours before drinking. Tasted February 2017.
