Wine lover since 2001! My interest in wine began while touring the factory where they printed the LCBO VINTAGES magazine.

Ca' Di Rajo Cabernet Sauvignon 2023, Doc Venezia

Cool, medium+ intensity nose is a bit shy, revealing earthy, raspberry, strawberry, red & black fruit & savoury spice aromas flecked w/ currant & cassis notes. Medium+ bodied palate is dry & ripe w/ delicious raspberry, strawberry, red plum & dried spice flavours in a fruit forward style. Savoury graphite & earth notes add complexity & interest on slightly chewy mid-palate. Crisp acids, fresh & lively. Fairly grippy & grainy tannins are quite firm, w/ good structure. Gently tangy w/ raspberry, strawberry, savoury spice & graphite notes on well-balanced, crisp & long finish. Tasted Apr. 2025.
Wynns Coonawarra Estate Cabernet/Shiraz/Merlot 2022, Coonawarra, South Australia

The majority is Cabernet Sauvignon in this 4-grape blend. It has a fresh, medium to medium-high intensity nose that is ripe with red & black currant, cassis, savoury oak spice, and cherry aromas. On the dry, medium to medium-full bodied palate it has smooth, rounded tannins with very nice aroma replays echoing on the palate, and joined by sweet wood spice notes. It has very good acidity, while the tannins are somewhat grippy on the mid-palate. Savoury with cocoa and earthy notes linger on the finish, with very good length. Tasted May 2025.
13th Street June's Vineyard Chardonnay 2023, Sustainable, VQA Ontario

This unoaked Chardonnay is delicate and fresh, with medium+ intensity aromas of apple, pear, and orchard fruit, along with some citrusy, cream, and earthy mineral aromas rising out of the glass. The medium+ bodied palate is dry and very nicely textured with delicious pear, apple, and citrus replays on the flavour profile, and joined by earthy minerals adding complexity and interest. It has fresh and zesty acidity. A touch spicy on the fresh, savoury, and earthy mineral finish. Tasted May 2025.
Bachelder Kirby Vineyard Gamay Noir 2022, VQA Four Mile Creek, Niagara On The Lake

Using 43% whole clusters, this has a medium+ to medium-high intensity nose of dark red fruits, cherry, raspberry, currant, cranberry aromas nuanced with herbs, pepper, and spice. All of aromas come through on the delicious, dry, and medium to medium-full bodied palate, and joined by subtle oak spice notes. It's well-structured with light tannins and juicy acidity. Finish is long and juicy. Tasted May 2025.
Hidden Bench Locust Lane Rosé 2024, VQA Beamsville Bench

This blend of 87% Pinot Noir, 7% Viognier, and 6% Chardonnay has a medium+ to medium-high intensity nose of ripe and bright red cherry, strawberry, and citrus aromas joined by some savoury pepper spice and mineral notes. The medium to medium-full bodied palate is dry with lovely strawberry, watermelon, cherry, and savoury spice flavours supported by juicy acidity. It's nicely textured with clean berry notes on the long finish. Tasted May 2025. Score: 90+ pts

This blend of Vermentino, Grechetto and Trebbiano has a fresh, lifted, and medium-high intensity nose of mineral, savoury earth, lemon citrus, herbs, orchard fruit, ripe apple, and pear aromas. The crunchy, mid-weighted, and dry palate has lovely citrusy aroma replays joined by touches of spice. It has very good acidity, while elegant mineral and lemon citrus notes linger on the long finish. Tasted Oct. 2024. Score: 90+ pts
Dandelion Fairytale Of The Barossa Rosé 2024, South Australia

This 100% Grenache rosé has a minerally, medium+ intensity nose surrounding a core of red berry, cherry, strawberry, and white pepper spice aromas. On the dry, medium to medium-full bodied it has delicious peppery spice replays, plus red berry fruits buoyed by slightly tart acidity. It's crisply textured, while the finish is spiced and tangy, with very good length. Tasted May 2025.

Tasted 2004 vintage. Aromas of candied oranges, honey and peach from cork. Soft toasted honey notes, slight citrusy aromas in the glass.Honey, peach, nutmeg and orange flavours on the palate. Light texture. Very sweet for a late harvest. Delicious. Tasted Apr/2012.
