Shipping to NWAC 2019 Guidelines

Judging for the WineAlign 2018 National Wine Awards of Canada will take place from Monday, June 10 through Friday, June 14 at the Wellington Community Centre in Wellington, ON, the heart of Prince Edward County.

NOTE: There is NO limit on the number of wines any single winery may enter. The cost to enter is $100 plus 5% GST per wine entry.  You can pay by secure online payment by credit card or PayPal. Payment by cheque is also possible. To make arrangements to pay by cheque and have your registered wines marked as paid, please contact [email protected].

If you require any further assistance please contact Sarah Goddard at [email protected].

Number of bottles

Registrants are required to ship at least three 750mL or six 375mL bottles of wine (or equivalent volume) per entry to allow for multiple rounds of tasting. Wineries submitting cork finished bottles should consider submitting four samples to avoid any risk of  TCA taint leaving them with insufficient bottles to compete.

Packaging Instructions

Package your wine carefully in sturdy boxes, preferably in cardboard shipping packs or, if necessary, Styrofoam shipping packs. Wines delivered locally to the consolidation points will be packed on pallets and shipped via truck to the competition. Extensive packaging will not be required for those wines. All others should be packed in shipping cases.

Please avoid using non-recyclable packaging. Do not use Styrofoam chips and difficult to open bubble wrap wherever possible. There is no need to include technical sheets, brochures, or packing lists inside the sample boxes.

Please clearly mark two sides of every shipping carton with the initials NWAC19 and your winery name.

Lost or Damaged Wines

The National Wine Awards assumes no responsibility for wine damaged or lost during shipment to the consolidation point.

Entry fees will not be refunded for broken, lost or incorrect wine shipments.

Entry fees will not be refunded for any wine received after the receipt deadline.

Late Wine Shipments

If you anticipate that some of your samples will arrive after the shipping deadline to either consolidation point, please contact Sarah Goddard at [email protected] immediately to make appropriate arrangements for processing your wines prior to the competition.

Wines that arrive after the shipping deadlines and without prior arrangements made with the NWAC administration will not be eligible for any refunds or returns.

Any wines that arrive after judging begins on June 10 are disqualified from the competition and NO refund will be made for such wines.
