Julian (94): As tight as a drum when examined, the phenomenal 2011 Le Méal Ermitage Blanc is designed for extremely long aging. Pale-light lime in colour with a touch of straw, this exquisitely promising offering delivers enchantingly delicate scents of 'chalky' lemon citrus, dried kiwi and honeysuckle, heather, smoke, marzipan, and a hint of orange rind, minerals, and spice. Very complex, wielding sensational fruit, balanced acidity, and a wonderfully structured, finesse-oriented hint of 'chalky' lemon citrus, marzipan, and minerals on the finish. Incredible personality, harmony, layering, and refinement. 100% Marsanne (averaging more than fifty years of age). Now-2050. (Tasted March 2014)
