This is a very floral, plummy, berry scented zinfandel - a bit confected but catching decent fruit essence without resorting to over-oaking and turning it into a Starbucks red like so many cheap zin peers. It’s medium weight, fresh and well balanced with very fine tannin, and pleasantly dry, vaguely earthy finish. Chill lightly; a great choice for gatherings where simple, fruity, sipping red is the order of the day. Score: 87 (David Lawrason, WineAlign.com, Mar 2013)
