Deep colour with aromas of plum, fig, baked cherry, woodsmoke, cedar and spice cupboard. Dry, fruity and quite tasty with velvety tannins on the midpalate. Well balanced, really well-made wine that is drinking very nicely now and should continue to do so over the next five years. Pair with roast beef au jus, hearty lamb stews or veal medallions in a red-wine sauce. (VINTAGES panel, Nov. 2011)

This one requires some patience. The bouquet had a harsh note, and so did the wine for the first glass. But it really grew on me, the harshness faded and the rich liquorice taste came out. In all, very interesting, but I am not going to run out and buy more of it.
