The 2010 vintage is excellent! Juicy plum and berry scents with subtle hints of spice and vanilla. Stays fruity, with a nice amount of body. Firm tannins with a velvety finish. Had it with homemade, steak and blue cheese pizza, an excellent pairing. Tasted February 2012

The 2010 Santa Carolina Carmenère Reserva, aged in French oak for 8 months, is a medium to full bodied, fruity to integrated wine with nice aromas of prune, coffee bean and smoke. The tannins are refined (decant for 15 to 30 min) and the finish is medium. It is ready to drink now and for the next 5 years. My impression: NICE, 88 pts - great buy for $12. Tasted Sept/11.
