This is wonderfully ripe and mature Chianti Classico, perfectly in line with the generous style of the 2009 vintage,...

Maturing very nicely, this has a medium+ intensity nose offering savoury, wet earth and meaty notes along with some dried herbs and floral. More mature, savoury aromas replays on the medium-full bodied palate. Smooth tannins and still has very good acidity. Long earthy finish. Traditional, old world Chianti Classico. 100% Sangiovese. Tasted May/2016.

Just coming into its own in 2017, this could have easily aged for a few more years before drinking.

Classic Chianti, all savoury and umami-laden at this stage but still quite vital.

It's only wine but I like it

No doubt, a very good CCR, seemingly at its peak. Maturing dried red fruits. soft tannin and a lingering finish, My only quibble is that the oak is a bit too prominent for my tastes. The sheen on vanilla (admittedly, not over-done) does diminish the Tuscan character. That said, there is much enjoyment in this wine. Tasted June 2017.

Rather furry on the palate and watch out for the sediment
