The single vineyard wines are each named in honor of the grape grower. The 2004 Malbec Vina Victorio Coletto comes from El Peral in Tupungato, Uco Valley. Victorio Coletto planted his vineyard in 1956. The wine was aged for 18 months in 100% new French oak. Purple-colored, it has a complex array of wood smoke, toast, vanilla, scorched earth, black cherry and blackberry liqueur. Full-bodied with a lush personality, the wine nicely conceals ample ripe tannin. It offers superior depth and concentration leading to a long, pure finish. It will develop additional nuance with another 6-8 years in bottle and provide pleasure through 2030. Score - 94
