Always one of the finer Napa cabernets year in and year out, the 2011 Fay, from the vineyard that once belonged to Nathan Fay who first planted the site in the Stag's Leap District in 1961, is particularly elegant and finessed thanks in part to the cooler growing season. I appreciate the very fine-grained tannic structure, suave and silky texture, and the lively, succulent acids. Length and depth are very good, and while this may not be as age worthy as more blockbuster vintages, this will provide plenty of pleasure over the next 10-15 years no doubt. Tasted January 2015. J.
