The 2001 Carome Barolo is light to medium bodied, integrated to AGED wine, with intense aromas of leather, violets and liquorice on the nose and red berries, coconut and vanilla on the palate. It is still tannic (decant for 30 to 60 min) and the finish is long and smooth. It is good to drink now, but should still cellar nicely throughout this decade. My impression: BEAUTIFUL, 93 pts. Tasted Sept/11.
