2009 vintage is alot better than those previous of this wine. This wine tastes great and has the complexity of a Gigondas. 15 bucks...great buy!

Meatiness, cherries, raspberries, chocolate, and spice on the nose. Fruity and medium-bodied with softening tannins. Very drinkable.

Tremendous value here. Loads of red fruit and peppery spice on the nose and palate supported by a subtle undercurrent of slightly underripe blackberry. The texture is smooth and supple and the finish medium and balanced.

A good friend of mine swears that this is the best wine he has ever had. He buys a case (or two) of every vintage released.

I recently had the opportunity to do a vertical wine tasting of Las Rocas San Alejandro Garnacha and the 2009 vintage topped the list.

A bit more complex than the other vintages. Lost of interesting spices, smoky flavours, and black cherry fruit notes. Tasty ... I wanted more of this wine.

Very impressive deep ruby colored wine from Bodegas San Alejandro. Blackberries and dark cherries on the nose. Very fruity, showing concentrated ripe black plum and cherries flavors with touch of peppery spices and vanilla. Medium to full bodied, relatively high alcohol. Well balanced, smooth finish and long aftertaste. Manchego cheese, chorizo or tortilla work very well with this red.
Worth a try!

From old vines 35-45 years old. Plush red fruit aromas from the glass. Medium-bodied with more red fruits on palate, joined by cranberry and spice box notes. Tannins a bit chalky. Good acidity with a medium-long finish. Serve slightly chilled. Tasted Nov/2012.

Pretty bright cherry garnet colour. Muted nose, but this light to medium body wine shines on the palate. My novice taste buds get plum jam, sour cherry, and a bit of dark chocolate. There's some lingering here with a peppery, slightly sour finish. Tannis and alcohol heat are soft but somehow an overall balance is achieved. A versatile table wine, I enjoyed it with Pasta alla carbonara. Excellent value at $14.65, but I picked up a few bottles during the LCBO early Jan. 2013 sale of $3.00 off - a steal!

The 2010 vintage. Soft, approachable grenache (garnacha), with notes of strawberries and cherries with a hint of spice. Oak is conspicuous only by its absence. Not surprisingly, alot like a Cotess Du Rhone (but without the garrigue). Good value at under $15, a steal when I picked it up at $11.95 on sale. Tasted Feb 2013.
