The 2004-2005 Mather Teresina is a blend of two vintages made from 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 20% Garnacha, and the balance Syrah, Morenillo, and Tempranillo. The wine spent 24 months in barrique. Purple/black in color, the wine offers up a complex bouquet of pain grille, pencil lead, tar, mineral, scorched earth, violet, blueberry, and blackberry. This is followed by a full-bodied, opulent wine with layers of ripe, spicy fruit, excellent breadth and depth, 6-8 years of cellaring potential and a lengthy finish.
