The 2005 L'Avi Arrufi is a blend of 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Garnacha, 20% Merlot, 15% Syrah, and 15% Tempranillo aged for 14 months in French, American, and Hungarian oak. A glass-coating purple color, the aromatics feature notes of tar, mineral, licorice, blackberry, and blueberry compote. With excellent grip, layers of fruit, and a firm structure, this well-balanced wine will evolve for another 3-5 years and drink well through 2025. Drink: 2011-2025. Score - 91.
