The 2018 Sicilia Menfi Cometa is a unique wine that has about half the creaminess and richness of the special Didacus bottling (that is of course Chardonnay) but with more quirky authenticity and brightness here. The grape is Fiano, and this age-worthy variety tends to offer abundant pear and Golden Delicious apple. There is some creamy Sicilian puff pastry on the close. Drink date: 2019-2028. Score - 93.
