The 2007 Avignon GSM (49% Grenache, 32% Shiraz, and 19% Mourvedre) was sourced from low yielding old-vines ranging in age 43 to 105 years. The wine was aged in seasoned French oak for 15 months. A limpid purple in color, it emits an alluring aromatic array of wood smoke, earth notes, black cherry, and blackberry liqueur. This is followed by a full-bodied, smooth-textured, easy-going wine with plenty of sweet fruit, good balance, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. It may evolve for 1-2 years but can be enjoyed now.
