Celler de Cantonella's vineyards are at the highest altitude of the D.O. just bordering the Montsant/Priorat D.O. Composed of 40% Tempranillo, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Garnacha, and 10% Merlot, the wine spent 12 months in 50% new French oak. Purple-colored, the aromatics reveal smoke, slate, floral notes, and assorted black fruits. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ripe, layered, and nicely proportioned. It has 2-3 years of aging potential but can be enjoyed now and over the next 8-10 years. Drink: 2010-2018. Score - 91. (Jay Miller, erobertparker.com, Feb. 2008)
