Georgian Hills is a small winery with vineyards in the Beaver Valley in the Georgian Bay region of Ontario, a partnership between well known wine marketing consultant Robert Ketchin and the apple growing Ardiel family. The local wine are based on cold climate hybrids, but in 2015 Georgian Hills developed the premium Wild and Inspired series based on Niagara vinifera - at this point largely from the Wismer Vineyard. Famed Niagara winemaker Thomas Bachelder (Bachelder wines, Domaine Queylus) sources the fruit which is hand-harvested and sent north at cold temperatures to Georgian Hills where it is wild yeast fermented and aged by wine maker Vanessa McKean. - Canadian Wine Insider
