Jill Troyer
Judge at the 2026 WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada
Jill completed her WSET3 in 2024. Her book about Château des Charmes founder and industry pioneer Paul Bosc Sr., The Winemakers Gamble was published in 2025, by Mosaic Press. Jill will be a judge at the Ontario Wine Awards in 2026 and was a judge at the All-Canadian Wine Awards in 2025. Jill writes a regular wine column for The St. Catharines Standard and has written about the wine industry in Niagara for The Lake Report for 10 years. She has won 5 national awards from the Canadian Community Newspaper Association for her wine features. In her previous career as a broadcast journalist, she won more than 30 awards, including a Gemini award for best local newscast.
Jill’s currently working on two more wine-related books. In her spare time, she and her husband explore wine tasting in Niagara, she hikes the Bruce Trail, and rides her favourite horse, Alex, at a local barn. Travel tends to be a wine focused affair.
She is thrilled to be a judge at the National Wine Awards of Canada.
